Citi Bank x AfroPunk Brooklyn

Experiential / Art Direction / Design

Citi Bank partnered with AfroPunk in Brooklyn to celebrate the culture and the people that ignite the movement. I was part of the team tasked with producing a photo experience to capture and inspire the community. Inviting the guests to express themselves fluidly and whole-heartedly. Within my role as art director and designer I came up with the graffiti motif used throughout, illustrated and designed all the artwork that lived in and around the space. I also consulted and helped design the user flow on the mobile device, the user experience within the space, and the environment itself.

Customization station

As any festival goer knows, you’re there for the music. But in between catching your favorite acts is time to hydrate, get a bite, and take advantage of the many branded activations. Our photo op was an experience in and of itself where guests could customize festival worthy swag good enough to use as props and coveted enough to make it back home with them.

A Touch of UX

Experiential Design is all about bringing an idea to life in a way that engages the user. After designing the overall look and environment, I was brought in to consult on the user experience behind the guest journey as well as design the user interface attached to the output.

With so many artists to see and booths to visit we wanted the user experience to be simple, quick, and easy to follow. Using branded elements with my custom graffiti illustrations we were able to seamlessly combine the recognizable look of Citi Bank with the essence of AfroPunk.
